Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal

A much-loved landmark in Venice.

In Venice, A Walking Tour Is The Only Way To Go!

To maximize your time, take a walking tour with a local guide. Here’s one that includes a sampling of cicchetti (small bites). Venice is famous for their snacks and drinks. Cicchetti can fill you up if you prefer to nibble rather than sit down at a table to eat.

You will experience the local culture by stopping at a typical bacari (Venetian wine bars), trying dishes like sarde in saor, baccalà, and other specialties. You will receive a glass of wine to accompany your small bites. The food tour goes through touristy places like the Rialto bridge, and less visited areas such as Campo Santa Maria dei Miracoli. At the end of this tour, you will feel a bit more Venetian and your belly will be full!

View From the Rialto Bridge

Amazing view from the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal.

This is one of the best places to get some memorable photos of the gondolas and water taxis on the Grand Canal. I cherish to photos I have and some of them have been framed and hung on my wall. Venice is a magical place and a visit to the Rialto Bridge should be on everyone’s list of “must-see” places while touring this delightful town.

On the Rialto Bridge

Be sure to walk both sides of the Bridge to get a different experience and wonderful photos!

A vaporetto boat (Venice’s water taxi boats) is a good way to get around Venice. However, it is harder to get pictures because there are usually a lot of tourists on the boats and a roof on the boat. Here is a photo to illustrate this point. Position yourself well once on the vaporetto and get some great pictures!

Rialto Bridge

Sometimes it is a challenge to get a good photo from the vaporetto boat. Position yourself well to get an unobstructed view.
